Damien Walker Joins the Diocese of New Ulm to Speak on Art, Faith, and Hope

Damien Walker, founder of the Studio of Saint Philomena, has recently been in the United States with the Diocese of New Ulm, speaking about Our Lady of the Prairie, the studio’s most recent major commission.

Damien was invited to share the story behind the painting, his creative process, and the spiritual significance of the work during the Diocese’s Pilgrimage of Hope, an eight-day journey across southern Minnesota. As pilgrims carried a replica of the painting to over 20 Area Faith Communities, Damien met with parishioners, clergy, and community members along the route to talk about the vision behind the piece and how sacred art can foster healing and devotion.

We’re grateful to see how deeply Our Lady of the Prairie is resonating with the people of New Ulm and beyond. The pilgrimage, rededication, and surrounding events have been widely covered in local news and diocesan media.
